Kim Spiker

Network Capacity Coach
Kim Spiker is proud to have served students and educators in Arizona and Illinois for over thirty years. Her focus on building relationships with individuals, teams and cohorts of learners enables work to move forward quickly and provides proven outcomes with student and adult learners. Kim has ten years’ experience providing coaching and professional learning on MTSS across two iterations of the Illinois MTSS Network. Most recently she served as a Student Success Coordinator and principal. Kim brings valuable field experience as she rejoins the Network to again serve as a Network Capacity Coach.
Kim earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from California State University at San Marcos. She went on to earn graduate degrees in Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University and Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. Kim holds a Professional Educator’s License with elementary and administrative endorsements and is also trained in Illinois teacher evaluation. She has served on the IL ASCD board and ISBE’s Dyslexia Task Force.
Ms. Spiker has provided professional learning to Illinois educators at the local, regional and state level on a variety of topics including: coaching, trauma, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Early Warning Systems, Continuous Improvement through data-informed problem solving, using the MTSS framework to support attendance as well as academic and social emotional student needs. Her unique way of connecting with educators allows her to provide content through job embedded learning which allows individuals and teams to apply new learning in their context for faster growth and improved student outcomes.
