Professional Learning

IL MTSS offers professional learning opportunities throughout the year. Our in-person and online programs are structured for professionals who want high quality, practical and relevant to your work. And it is flexible to accommodate your busy schedule!
Learning Networks
Our Learning Networks allow you to interact with colleagues in a convenient online learning environment while you explore content and tools that apply to your local context. We offer a variety of relevant topics covered in 4, 5 or 9 sessions across the school year.
All Learning Networks include:
- online access to electronic resources chosen to support you to use what you learn in your own context.
- online office hours with an experienced MTSS capacity coach.
- the chance to earn ISBE PD credit hours.
Need to miss a session? No worries! Every Learning Network is recorded and available for you to complete for PDH credit or just to review!
What will I experience?
Being part of a Learning Network provides you with practical and relevant content, networking opportunities with other educators, and vetted resources to support you as you use what you learn.
You’ll experience professional learning that:
- Is structured for engaged adult learning using adult learning principles.
- Includes learning content backed by research, electronic resources and tools/tips for application.
- Uses breakouts, online tools and engagement strategies for differentiation as helpful (e.g. large/small school, stage of implementation).
- Includes additional virtual coaching opportunities to support your learning and application.
Boot Camps
Our Boot Camps are offered during the summer months and help you feel more confident implementing MTSS in your school or district with concentrated, targeted information on essential practices that increase staff capacity. You’ll build your knowledge and skills in consensus-building and change theory, MTSS essential practices, data-based decision making, building a tiered continuum of supports, selecting evidence-based interventions and processes for fidelity and evaluation.
Two in-person professional learning sessions gives you dedicated off-campus planning time and equip you to apply what you learn to your unique context. You’ll connect with other educators doing similar work and receive ongoing support through online follow-up coaching sessions.
Boot camps are even better when you bring your whole team! We offer discounts for multiple staff from the same school. You can get all staff on the same page and use this dedicated time to work together as a team.
